I Wanted Engineering - Unilorin Best Medical Graduate With Most Prize Says


Alabi Rasheedat Adedoyin, the Best Medical Graduate with most prize at the 33rd University of Ilorin convocation, has explained how she jettisoned her ambition to become an engineer for medicine. 

Adedoyin, emerged best Graduating Student from a class of 53 students dominated by male at the College of Health Sciences. 

Adedoyin, who hailed from Ikirun, Osun State said that she was actually convinced by her mother to take over her father's profession. 

"My mum actually convinced me to put in for medicine and I think it's a great choice. After putting in for medicine, I started developing interest in the course and it has been really nice," 

According to her, she never regretted studying medicine and surgery, as her passion for it kept growing. 

"I wanted to study engineering but I don't have any regret,"

Some of the award won to Adedoyin's credits includes : prizes for the  best student in Maternal and Child Health recording 67.1%, best student in pathology leading with 71.4 %, the best student in COBES and Community Health (64.5%), and best student in Paediatrics with a score of 67.7%
She also won best prizes of the best  student in medicine, overall best student scoring 68.1%, best graduating student in Paediatrics and Child Health recording 67.7%, best student in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with 66.5%, best student in Surgery recording 72.6%
Others are best overall Medical graduand at part 111 Final MBBS Examination -69.6% and best student in Chemical Pathology with 65.4%.
