Stories suggesting that famous Nigerian male Barbie, Bobrisky, has been arrested, have been making rounds on social media; but how true are these stories? Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky is well known for his unusual lifestyle and sales of cosmetic products for skin lightening. He became very popular on social networks in 2016; he also got a lot of fans who wanted to learn his secrets of makeup and details of his private life.

Recently, Bobrisky attracted a new wave of attention when news about his arrest hit the social media So many different assumptions were made as to why he was arrested, but the two most noteworthy possible reasons are:
- Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju was arrested because he recently admitted to being homosexual on social media.
- The war of words between him and businesswoman Toyin Lawani; however, the entrepreneur quickly refuted this theory. She cleared the air through her personal assistant who released a statement saying she has nothing to do with the arrest and people should stop trying to relate Bobrisky’s problems with her.
If it turns out that Bobrisky is really being prosecuted for homosexuality, he may face a penalty of 14 years in jail.
What did Bobrisky write on social media?
The celebrity recently dropped a message to all his haters who left offensive comments on his page, asking them to leave him in peace. He said that their words cannot change him because they do not matter to him, even though they keep trying desperately to attract his attention.
The star expressed his opinion quite emotionally, urging his haters to do more useful things with their time instead of terrorizing him on social networks. He currently has more than 750 thousand followers and this number is constantly increasing.
Bobrisky explained that if he really cared about the opinions of every single stranger on the internet, he would have deleted his accounts on social networks long ago.
And now for the most interesting part of the story – he referred to himself as ‘gay and bound for hellfire’; it would however seem like he posted these messages due to the fact that he had run out of patience and was completely tired of the endless stream of hate messages being sent to him, and wanted to hear something new for a change.
Bobrisky says he is tired of hypocritical friends and celebrity scandals. He advised everyone to live their life and stop putting their noses in other people’s business. The male Barbie is not known for trying to live up to other people’s expectations; some stars worry about having a billion of fans and being loved by the public, but he does not seem to care about that. He insists he will simply do what he likes and will not allow anyone take that away from him.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) in Lagos, Famous Cole, has said that little is known about the arrest of Bobrisky, but perhaps he had to undergo an interrogation procedure or he independently filed a complaint

The acting Commissioner of Lagos police, Edgal Imohimi, later reported that he has no idea about the arrest of the scandalous celebrity. When communicating with the media, the policeman called on Bobrisky to indicate who arrested him and insisted that as a matter of fact, his team did not have any form of interaction with the male Barbie and they do not have any problems with him.
Dolapo Badmos, Zone 2 PRO also confirmed the falsity of these rumors. According to her, if the social networks celeb has been detained, it certainly occurred without the participation of police officers.
