As a start up, many are the things you want to do but you're financial incapable and you may find yourself spending money on the things you do not really need. This post highlights few things your business survive without
1. A custom website

You definitely do not have to hire an expensive designer. There are a lot of template-based websites available at reasonable prices. This can be good for a start and when your blog grows you can easily transition to dedicated or semi-dedicated hosting.
2. Advertising without a plan

Without a plan or goal, many small businesses decide to print glossy brochures, buy newspaper ads and purchase a radio spot and then wait to see what happens.
It does not work that way. You have to have a clear purpose in mind before running an ad , and you should track them to see if the desired results is obtained.
3. Office supplies you will never use

Not every business needs paper clips, staples, hole punches and stackable trays. We only buy one ream of paper at a time and always think twice before we print something. Today you only need to save receipts for tax purposes. All other records can be saved digitally on the "cloud".
4. Promotional items that do not translate into sales

Personalised hoodies are cute, but will they really sell more of your products? And do you really want two hundred of them to hand out?
Promos can work, but choose the items very carefully, be mindful of your budget, and have a plan for placement and distribution.
5. Renting space you do not need

If you can work out of your bedroom, do it. It is not glamorous but oh the money you will save! To keep your work environment fresh use other work space resources like public libraries and coffee shops.
