A wallet carries many things including money, ID cards, insurance cards, keys, and even credit cards among others. When you lose your wallet, don't panic but do these five things:
1. List everything that was in the wallet
The first thing to do is to make a list of things that were in the wallet. This will help you to know what you have lost in the wallet to come up with immediate measures.
2. Try to remember if it was stolen/lost/misplaced
There is no need of panicking when your wallet goes missing. You should try to remember how it has gone missing. Maybe you just misplaced it, and you will find it later on. However, if it was stolen, this should worry you a bit.
3. Freeze your accounts
If your wallet was stolen and it had access to your accounts, you should immediately freeze them. This will make sure the person who stole it cannot have access to your account without proper confirmation of other details.
4. Report to the local authorities
You should report this to the authorities so that you are given new documents. You will be given a letter to show that your ID, your DL (driving license) and other documents were lost with the wallet. This will help you avoid problems with authorities.
5. Replace lost items
There are things that you will need to replace them immediately. Such things include keys, ID and even Driving licence.
