Following his decoration as a human right ambassador on 24th April, 2018 alongside singer Simi and the former minister for education; Madam Oby Ezekweseli, actor; Yomi Fabiyi, has established his human rights foundation, call it "Break The Silence foundation".
The actor, who was decorated as Human Rights Ambassdor by the Consul General Mr John Bray in Conjuction with CRALI, a Human Rights NGO affiliated to the Consulate, launched his foundation in Nigeria.
The onus is on them to keep promoting and advocating for Human Rights. While the other two are doing their bits with their respective organisation, Actor Yomi Fabiyi estalished BREAK THE SILENCE FOUNDATION.
In his remarks when announcing government formal approval and registration on his Instagram page, the award winning actor opined that inherited silence and fear from majority of the masses contributes to the rot in the society and infrastructures, hence he wishes to give the voiceless some voice and motivate Nigerians to follow through and ensure the body sensitizes, advocates and condemns any act of Human Right abuse, brutality, oppression and violations especially by the law enforcement officers.
He is of the opinion there is no democracy if there is no formidable human rights protection in Nigerian. He added that security is one of the rights of the masses and The Nigerian Police saddled with this responsibility needs complete rooted restructuring. He aims to use the foundation to promote peace and see to it that all Nigerians understand and know their rights such that equality is practice and every citizen are treated with dignity and respect.Nollywood Actor & Producer Yomi Fabiyi Finally Breaks His Silence
